Utilizing proprietary systems combined with long term proven methods, NPV focuses on enhancing the value of the properties it manages in concert with exceeding the investors goals. Our integrated approach is flexible and can be adapted to both class A trophy properties along with properties requiring significant re-positioning. The Leadership of NPV consists of professionals from the Property Management, Mortgage Banking, Accounting, and Asset Management fields. With an average of over 20 years in real estate experience, our company Leadership is uniquely equipped to guide both small investors and large institutions through the different phases of the investment process. Our expertise and qualifications have been recognized and approved by Housing Agencies, Government Sponsored Enterprises (Fannie Mae) and local banks.

From sourcing acquisitions for investors, to performing due diligence on prospective properties, to repositioning the property to enhance value, and to finally either selling the asset or refinancing in order to produce long term cash flow. OUR TEAM

Stuart Zook President
Stuart Zook is President of Newport Property Ventures. Mr. Zook has over 30 years experience in the real estate industry and is responsible for the overall investment and operational strategy for the Company.

Mr. Zook has spent his career working in Property and Asset Management positions for various Institutional and private owners. Prior to joining Newport, Mr. Zook spent 9 years with Equity Residential. While at Equity, Mr. Zook was initially responsible for the management of over 10,000 units located throughout the Midwest and the Northeast. He later on moved in to the Asset Management and Investment Officer position for the Southeast. In this role he developed and coordinated the overall investment plan for 30,000 units valued at 1.5 billion dollars-located throughout Florida and Georgia. He was also responsible for coordinating the due diligence process on all potent, acquisitions and managing the ongoing capital plans.

Mr. Zook received his Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Illinois University. He holds the Real Property Administration designation from Building Owners and Managers Institute and has served on the Board of various local Apartment Associations.
Jackson Harper Vice President-Asset Management
Jackson Harper is Vice President-Asset Management for Newport Property Ventures. Mr. Harper has over 13 years of experience in real estate lending and operations. He is responsible for coordinating all real estate financing activities for NPV clients and advising on the acquisition and disposition strategies for the properties. He also oversees all aspects of risk management for the portfolio, including management of the Newport insurance program, which provides coverage for the majority of the properties NPV manages. Prior to joining Newport, Mr. Harper spent 7 years working in the commercial real estate finance division of Gibraltar Bank where he was responsible for analyzing financial data and structuring commercial credit facilities, including multi-family, retail, office, warehouse, and construction loans.
Don Carstens Vice President - Property Management
Don Carstens is Vice President of Property Management at Newport Property Ventures. Mr. Carstens has over 25 years of experience in the real estate industry and is responsible for the Property Management of all NPV properties.

Don worked in several positions for Equity Residential over the past two decades, including Senior Staff Accountant, Budget Analyst, Pricing Director and most recently Facilities Director. Mr. Carstens was instrumental in launching many of the national initiatives at Equity and was involved in every aspect of operating over 500 assets nationwide.
Amruta Pandit Director of Human Resources
Amruta Pandit is the Director of Human Resources. She is responsible for all aspects of Human Resources including payroll, benefits administration, training, and recruiting. Amruta is PHR certified and has over 8 years of human resource experience. Since joining Newport in 2008, Newport has developed a state of the art benefits and training program. Adapting to the ever changing legislative environment.

Amruta earned her MBA in Personnel Management (2002) from University of Pune, India and graduated top of the class with an MS in Human Resource Management (2007) from Florida International University, Miami, FL.
Deme Mekras Director of Real Estate Operations
Deme Mekras is the Director of Real Estate Operations. Deme has worked in the real estate industry for 7 years and been with Newport for the past 5. His experiences are vast, having worked in many aspects of the real estate industry including residential financing and sales, multifamily property accounting, and multifamily operations. He currently serves as our Director of Real Estate Operations where he heads our budgeting department, performs financial analysis on current and prospective investments, and oversees part of our portfolio in the role of Regional Manager.

Deme attended Florida International University where he earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. He later attended Nova Southeastern University where he earned a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).
Michael Withrow Director of Property Accounting
Michael Withrow is the Director of Property Accounting. Michael is responsible for all property accounting activities including the issuance of monthly owner reports. Under Michaels’ leadership, Newport delivers quality operating information while maintaining the highest accounting standards through procedures he has developed and implemented. Prior to joining Newport, Michael was an Accounting Manager for a real estate investment company.

Michael attended Nova Southeastern University where he earned both a B.A. in Accounting and a Masters in Accounting.
Ginny Decker Regional Manager
Ginny Decker is a Regional Manager supervising the Central and Northern Florida portfolio. A graduate of the University of Florida, Ginny has been in the property management field for 16 years. Prior to joining Newport, she developed her career in property management by working for some of the most respected management companies in the industry: Colonial Properties Trust, Julian LeCraw & Company, Equity Residential, and Empirian Property Management. Ginny is active in the local Apartment Association, serving on the Board of Directors and as Legislative Committee Chair.
Connie Nelson
Connie Nelson, Regional Manager for the Texas and Oklahoma portfolios, has over 14 years of experience in the multifamily industry. Six years of that time has been spent with Newport Property Ventures where, prior to taking her current role, she successfully managed four communities and effectively trained many employees as the Regional Trainer. She currently oversees almost 2,000 units ranging between Newport owned and third party managed sites. Connie is experienced in the daily operations of conventional and tax credit multifamily properties. Prior to her employment with Newport, she worked with some of the most well established management companies in the country.
Shaun Gibbs Regional Manager
Shaun Gibbs serves as a Regional Manager with over 10 years real estate experience. Mr. Gibbs is responsible for the daily operations and management of both NPV-owned and fee-managed assets in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and North Carolina. Prior to joining Newport Ventures, Mr. Gibbs worked for Apogee New Dawn as a Regional Manager overseeing sites in 3 states. Mr. Gibbs has a degree in Computer Science from Gadsden State.
